He may be silent on track. I have one I use for coon hunting and he is very tight mouthed. He has a good nose on him some people say he's hot nosed but he aint all that hot nosed because I've seen him working a track a long while then give a couple ground barks and roll up treed.
Everybody hollers PLOTTS but I think a english cross would be the way to go for a hog dog.
