I  HAD a dog that did the exact thing you are talking about.  Notice I said HAD   Honestly, I wish I knew how to break him of being too concerned with the ATV. I worked with the dog almost a year, and he got a little better, but not much.

Hopefully someone here knows how to fix your dog.
