A guy told me that vicks or something like it dries up females after the pups are weaned. Has anyone else heard or tried this?

No....If I were a ole gyp with sore, scratched up titties I would bite you for that... 

Get some bag balm or udder budder or some type of lanolin cream to help conditon them a little...only thing to really dry her up will be no nursing pups and time...
