I totally understand how yur feeling. my old male is 9yrs also. he can still get the job done anyday of the week, but I can tell he is slowing down. makes me sad, even tho we have had lots of good times & plenty of hogs. I have 3 of his sons, they are 2yrs old now. one of them has been outdoing him. I cant bear to watch him just sit at home, so I alternate him and his boys. old dogs one hunt, young the next. & I am gonna breed him again in this next year as soon as my gyp comes in.
good luck w/ yur breedings & enjoy the time u have left w/ her. for a gritty hog dog, 9yrs of life is an accomplishment. shes a nice lookin dog.
