what is an Elhew Pointer?
A strain of bird dogs bred by one of the legends of bird dog hunting in south texas, he has since passed away, they were noted for endless bottom and hunting on the run large south texas quail ranches until they feet were destroyed, they have as much bottom as the best foxhound used to have. But like anything else people ruin them and judge the whole line by one dog somebody claims was Elhew bred and had according to a trainer that it had to be shocked for coming in to check in??? They should make great hog dogs purebred or crossbred as they have not been ruined by popularly like some of the hot gotta have one dog breeds one sees bringing $1000 for a 6 week old pup in Livestock Weekly classifieds.
