PEEWEE

Thats the ideal hog dog for sure.  But a man is gonna cull a lotta lotta good dogs trying to make his whole pack straight shut up silent .

I myself will not cull a great find dog are a great bay dog just for doing that .

x2...even if the dogs are silent, the hog probably can hear them coming over a 100 yards away if he is standing still and listening...
true but a dog got whole lot better chance of catching up to the hog and stopping it if the hog stops to listen well then again if what you say is true about a hog hearing a dog a 100 yrds off why wouldn't the hog start running when he hears the dogs coming the first time but i do agree your not gonna stop every hog that's just a fact of hog hunting but I don't want a dog running a hog for miles if my my dogs can't shut it down in about a half mile they come back to many hogs around to just chase one for hours well at least around here

sounds like you are running BMC's??? I have friends that hunt this style and that is what they use...

hog hunting is very challenging and that is for sure...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
