As long as they're made out of a softer material like nylon or wood(and you use them correctly) no probs. Just pull back on the dog's collar(as if you were gonna choke him off), wiggle the corner of the break stick in, and continue to twist/wiggle/insert as you pull back on the dog. Each time the dog's jaw relaxes, the stick will go further in, preventing his jaws from regripping... eventually allowing the ear to slip out. Once you know how to use it you can get them off in a couple seconds.
