where to start ? i guess with the plotts wich in my day [sorry boys] plotts was CUR DOGS till they left the hills and the coon hunters got ahold of em . you can still find a silent runnin plott now and again my ol gyp was the more cur type plott and tight mouthed all the cross pups is tight mouthed . but any way the plotts was runnin bear and boar since they hit the shores of america  several hundred years ago so they was bred to hunt hogs and  bear . i don't care for the tree dogs on hog cause they tend to be more open mouthed . except for here lately the comp. hunters prefer semi open dogs . now the runnin hounds are more better for pork in my opinion because they tend to be a little more on the semi to tight mouthed till the game is jumped then it's too late cause they will stay on it's butt till stopped . blue ticks we shall make a determination on shortly when i get mine and one of her cross pups to the woods  Grin but within each breed of hounds you will find that some individuals are identical in traits just not breed or color , bout like differant breeds of curs are the same in style . this is just my good guesstimation of ya questination  Grin  Grin
