X2, plotts used to be plotts, but like halfbreed said they trying to make coondogs out of them, and the Coon bred plotts that ive seen have no gritt. As a whole the walkers are lacking in the grit dept also, but have the speed. The redone and black and tans vary considerably depending on strains, more nose, less speed, average grit.
But I have to agree, take away the color and their all the same, except the plott. You will find a gritty one here and there, some more than others, but as a whole the plotts have been bred for grit from the start, not just run Chase and tree.
