This is just me but if youre going to just kill the hog I wouldnt bother with a catch dog. I dont see taking the chance of getting a catch dog cut down for a dead hog. Having a catch dog is an extra dog to feed and extra vet bills.

I'd hunt two to three dogs. Just my opinions though. Good luck!
