I'll say this for the fellas who always  chime in on the  the guy who asks this same question on wright's, or thom's dogs.   yall sure can steer the wagon when yall are riding the mule in the back. what they tell you is there are these guys that breed better dogs but they have closed kennels. You have to try and find them first, then if you are lucky enuff to do so, he may shoot ya if you show up at his kennel trying to buy a pup, and if he don't shoot ya you will need to scoop dog crap, and water and feed dogs, follow him to the woods and kiss most of his dogs butts before he will even think about letting your greatgrand son buy a pup from him in the year 2099.  But don't you dare buy from them big time dog peddlers. Now if this guy takes a likeing to you he will give you a pup, but fat chance of that happening. And if he does give you a pup  then what, am I gonna run it with so called lesser or bad dogs. I do understand that all of these breeders of great strains of hog dogs are not gonna give away their 30 or so years of breeding experience to us newbies, but like I said before I do not think we should have to take all the dam  culls, and or crap dogs and waste our time and money on that crap. I have been very quiet for a while and have been reading and listening to all the breeding talks, and styles of dogs, and breed types, and cross types, I have even tried to get some pups. I have even looked at and talked to some of the guys that have ooopppps breedings. I have decided to just hold off for another 6 months to a year, try to make a friend or so on this site, and maybe try to work my way into getting to follow on a few hunts. But after I post this statment I may become black balled by all the good ones, but so be it. I ask this question one more time "If these great breeders do not want to be found, or they do not want to sell their blood lines then what ?" We have to start somewhere, If we buy bad blooded dogs then who will want to hunt with us, only the guys with the bad dogs, surely not any of you so called good ones. Would it not be better for the good ones to understand if they want this great sport to live on then make sure that this new person is a hog dogger for sure number one, then make sure he is dedicated to the health and care of dogs, and that he is gonna respect the land owners and the law, and then help him along in some way or fashion. I am not saying we should walk in and you give us the keys, we need to prove ourselves just as I stated above. But I sure am tired of hearing alot of this you can't get them good ones cause you ain't one of us. But don't go elsewhere and spend your money on dem pappered up dogs cause they ain't worth a crap. For some of you, NOT ALL, I wish you'd make up your dad blame minds. You either love this sport enough to pass it on or you love it just enough to keep it to youself. This is just my opinion and yep it stinks too, and I have not proven myself enough to be considered good enough to lead anyones dogs....... YET.
