Its fun using catch dogs but my first choice is bay and shoot. There is nothing like walking on the river bottom with 2 or 3 dogs by yourself. Just easing around quietly. All you need is a pistol and a garmin. Plus, if you have young dogs or new dogs you can let them work and see what they do... good and bad.
