he's still young should get over it with age and confidence . if not summers coming on . take the dog to the pond and get in the water with him and teach em how ta swim . i would swim my dogs alot in the summer when it's to hot to hunt . there is no better way to keep a dog in shape during the summer than swimming . sounds like a pretty good propsect once you get him out of the water shyness thing . work on that with him . good luck , MR.
