Jmo but she knew what she was signing up for when she married you. You may get past this bump by selling the dog but the resentment you are going to develop towards her is going to do nothing but get worse. If she is willing to leave you over this then she is looking for a way out anyway. You may want to consider getting a actual counselor to talk with the both of you so you can have a 3rd party go over the situation with the both of you and get to the root of the problem.
x2...just like buying a car to improve the relationship...works for about a month and then the car payment is due...and then the car insurance is higher because it is a new car...you find out that things can get worse than before you bought the car...not exactly the same but getting rid of the dog is not really getting to the root cause of the problem...it is only a temporary fix and both of you are not addressing the real issues (root cause)... hope both of you can work it out...but I agree with hogsnatcher about maybe a marriage counselor can help you both...
