x2 T-Bob, but only to an extent. If she is leaving you over a dog I think that she was waiting on an excuse. If she really wants to be with you as a family then she wil come back if you asked... if she don't, then you might be better off with someone else. Family comes first, but you only have one life to live... so don't give up everything you love just to make her happy when she isn't willing to give up anything to keep you happy, AND is so quick to leave. JMO Been in similar situation before, and had to basically put the hammer down like T-Bob said, but with a little finesse.
