Yes they are! I have not been ripped off, but I have been wanting to post the same thing... I am not so much a newbee, but I guess I'd consider myself "started" or just now "turning on" LMAO! BUT... I have made quite a few dog deals, and it gets frustrating. If you have not hunted with the dog, and none of your really close, trust worthy friends have either, why trust someone you don't know??? I don't care if they are wearing a preacher's outfit... those things come off!!! As do someones' demeanor or attitude. One question that I have for some of these people who have been getting ripped of right and left is... how long have you given the dog on your yard before you hunted it by yourself without the previous owner of the dog around??? From my experiances, a good finished strike dog WILL go and catch a hog if put into the woods, no doubt. BUT if you've hunted with the owner and dog and it found hogs, but then you take it hunting without the owner around and it doesn't hunt, is that not partly due to the fact that it's not your dog and even the dog knows that??? I feel that you should have some type of bond with this dog if you expect it to hunt for you. Example: feeding and petting it, and actually having the dog come to your call. If the animal will not do that then how can you expect the dog to hunt? I don't know all of the senerios, but some that I have read have made me wonder this. I do not mean to upset anyone saying any of this, but I'm more conserned. If you do not know without a shadow of a doubt that the dog is what you want, why buy it??? There are way too many reputable dog breeders out there to not look around. JMO
