Let me start by saying $1000.00 is to much for any pup, but if your not willing to pay a fair price for a reg. pup, there are plenty of cross breeds out there, that are available that are probably better dogs than the pure breds! why do you think so many people are doing it, because none! of the breeds being used  today were originally developed to hunt hogs with. Maybe some feed their dogs a scoop of Ol Roy once a week whether they need it or not,LOL, but to my knowledge it cost money to feed a yard of dogs!, if you think that breeders are raking in the dough, your wrong.

You way way off, there a guy down the road from me never owned his own strain of curs the whole time i knew him, now he got wetbacks rasing the pups in old cotten gin pens, figure it out, they sell 2 litters a year off one gyp, say they have 10 pups each, thats 20 pups to sell, that 20 thousand from one breeder and think other guy is charging $500 each for pups so one gyp gets $10,000, you think about the math again and tell me where they are losing money??  A cur dog averages a 1 pound of dog food a day 365 a year?  20 shots from a wholesale vet supply $1.50 each , they making more money than with cattle, thats why you dont see him with hog dogs, the gyps are too valabule to hunt and get off the production line, yet people will go there and buy pups and not a hog dog or gun on the placelol   Ask somebody why they dont shoot hogs, usually its because they can not own a gun legally!!!lol
