When I was a kid we would put ourselves in a barrel. You learn to avoid the bumpy hills.

Getting in a big tire it goes off course and falls over the barrel goes straighter. I guess I have never been right in the head. But if we did it to ourselves it can't be that bad. Never done it to a dog but having been in the barrel I could see dog would not like the change. As far as steep we liked it better just avoid the sudden stops. We would go down to the creek because it was steep and the water gave a softer stop. It does sound mean but it is more disorientating than it hurts. When the barrel stops you don't know which way is up
