Tony,

Most females that cylce "correctly" are in standing heat from the night of the 10 day-13 day since spotting began.  Pegestrone testing is the most percise detection, but it is costly and needs a base line typically to be "correct" in a vet's eyes.  It sounds to me like she is a bit ouchy.  It is common in cur females.  I would check to see if she is flagging.  If she is, you can have someone help you hold her head forward, while the male handles his business.

Big Ben's quote is pretty much right on.  If you're at day 14, you better hurry if you're not already a little too late.  I usually use between 7 and 14 days as a general rule.

Thanks guys.. They've been together this week, big e just hasnt seen them hook up at all so idk.. I'll go by later and hold her down if I have too! It's too important to miss this time
