My recomendation is to get one of those lights that clip onto the bill of your hat. It helps to avoid tripping on down trees but mostly when your hat gets ripped off your head by a branch or whatever you can find it
Running to a hog one night I tripped over a log and my hat came off. When I looked the light was shining on someone else's hat. They needed a light on it. I prefer a light that is not white so I can see what is outside the light. I also paint any gear I want to find that neon orange. So I can find it in the dark. Try finding something black in the dirt at night. With a black light flashlight you can find it fast
Wear thick clothes because you will run into stuff and not see the thorns. That is all I can think of now.
