You get in a nest and it is scarry. They will come after you. I have been chased. You are lucky not to get bit. You might give your vet a call and find out how much the anti venom is. It will reduce further damage. I have not had cotton mouth bites just copper head and rattle snake. But rattle snake bites are bad and I think cotton mouth are right there with them.
