It's jut like any breed, there are good and bad. I have two Dogos and both are catching and were catching as pups. When my old catch dog (also a Dogo) died in December, my oldest Dogo pup was 9 mo old. Didn't think he was ready for full time woods stuff by himself so I got a pit, then another pit, then another, and finally another. Culled four pits in less than a month because three wouldn't catch at all and one curred out before I finally said screw it and used my 9 mo old dogo pup as my cd. Point is, there are good an bad in every breed. Use what you like. All breeds have different advantages.
No matter what breed you choose, be picky about the breeder/blood line. If they are breeding hunting dogs, your chances are much higher that your going to get a hunting dog.
Just a helpful hint, there are a lot of people breeding Dogos that don't hunt, find a breeder who does.
