If so......that's gonna be VERY hard for an elderly dog to survive regardless.

I was only told that it was some sort of infection and the vet said that she needed to be spayed. My mother was relaying info to me via phone. I will try to get some more info.

Yeah that is ROUGH. A spay does need to be done when that happens, but the prognosis is horrible for such an old dog! I can't believe they are even going to put her under anesthesia at her age! I hope they use the appropriate pre-anesthetic meds!!!
I sure hope so too. While I think that putting the poor old dog.through all of this is wrong I hope that she makes it since they did. Thank you for your insight on this matter.
