I read about DE after this post.
Pretty much, it seems like you don't really need to worry about the food grade stuff because it has less of something in it, crystiline silica or something. Where the pool stuff is 70%, food grade is like 3%.
It says not to breathe in the dust, and it will irritate your eyes, but it also says the guys who mine the DE don't have problems, and that road dust, and grain dust are more harmful than DE dust.
It is used near grain storage to keep bugs out, so we all consume a little already.

Also read about feeding it to cattle, dogs, cats, and humans.

I ordered a bunch, I'm going to try dusting the dogs and feeding it to them.
I'll even eat some myself.
