Thanks!, I have a young pit who will bite at his kennel when the horses come by to drink. I was told not to use a shock collar until they've been on a bunch in the woods but I don't think it will change his Hate for hogs and I want to fix this fast. I went ahead and did it to my cow dog prospect and he will still work a cow. What do y'all think?
some folks make the mistake of turning a pup loose in the woods to hunt for hogs and the first thing he sees in the woods is a deer and you go to zapping and the pup comes out with his tail between his legs...the next time out he sees a dillo and he gets zapped again...well the pup figures any time he goes to the woods he gets zapped so he stays close and does not want to hunt any more...The way to train this pup is to turn him in to a bay or fresh hog sign and let him run and catch a few hogs...this way he does not confuse why he is getting zapped...because he already knows it is ok to run hogs in the woods...this pup shouldn't be trash broke until he has been on a few hogs in the woods...
but with the pitbull...it is ok to break him off of horses and cows where he is right now...because once they catch a cow it is hard to break them off of cows...
