If they need more motivation than the natural desire to hunt, then they don't stay here long. I don't praise and beg them to hunt, they either do or they don't. On the other hand, I don't beat or kick a dog for not hunting. That won't make them any more motivated other than to stay out of arms reach when it's time to load up.

The only thing I have seen any of my dogs do is when my Red dog makes a loop and checks in,  sometimes he will walk behind or beside me for a minute until I reach down and pet him. As soon as I do he is off like a rocket again.
