Does anybody know how to use a stone to sharpen their knife any more? Im just sayin'!

My daddy would whoop my ass for using something like that!
i can still sharpen with a stone if the knive has good metal. i hate the factory edge that comes on knives, i like a long bevel and most of the factory edges are short bevel. i recently bought a moore maker trapper. i put a long bevel on both blades. i used the spey blade to barr and mark eight hogs (thats all that my spey blades touch) it would still shave afterwards, i used the pointed blade to cut two pieces of rope and it was dull, i think that blade was made of a softer metal.
