Thanks for the comments guys.      I run vest on them sometimes, but not always. It depends on where im huntting and what the brush is like, what the temp. is and a few other factors.  Sometimes I will let a dogo run on the ground and if so I wont vest that dog because if it leaves and is off to the races with the curs I dont want it to over heat.   The vest I have is a full body length vest with 5 buckles across the top.  The terrain I hunt in is super thick with vines and briars and such.   The straps and buckles get hung up in the vines and it REALLY slows down the dog getting to the bay.  MOST of the time i turn my dogs to the bay from 200-300 yards or more out.  So i need them  to get there and not get hung up  or over heat after getting there and catching.  And to me it is a coin toss ,   To vest or not to vest.  Take the chance of the dog overheating and dying or take the chance of the dog getting cut and dying.   I have  just found and bought two more vest this past weekend at Uncles earls that I am gonna try .   They are more of a bay type vest that only goes just past the front shoulders .  This is the trama area 99% of the time where my dogs get cut.   Also They only have 2 straps and buckles across the back so it is less to get hung up in the thickets.   I think they will be a lot cooler also .    I hope i explained myself well .
