 Cowdog stock will work fine for hogs, it just depends on who you get them from and how the line is worked. The invention of barbed wire has change the cur dogs tremendously. Yes the cur was used to drive cattle and hogs to market but that was not their intended purpose, they were bred back in the day to be a "Meat dogs" they had to put meat on their owners table in order to live, ammo was expensive then so they needed a dog that could get it done by themselves. They had to feed their owners before they were fed, anything on the thicket floor was fair game back then.
