i dont have any hog dogs nor can i buy any right now. but ive been thinking about what kind of pack i would have. i hunt alot of fields, clear cuts, small thickets, and hardwood flats. and alot of the time i see the hogs in the fields. i need a dog that is fast, high prey drive. alot of bottom, large in size, and can shut down a runner. a rcd. also a dog that is semi open, gritty, and hot nosed, and some what small in size. i know some of yall would say a bmc or catahoula and cull hard ill i find something i like. but in my eyes a stag and a mtn cur fit me i would think well. the way i would hunt would be to hav the mtn curs find a hot track havthem opn on it then release the stags. or see the hog in a field release the stags then mtn curs to open up and help some i guess. 2 to 3 stag and 2 mtn curs. as a tracking system i chose a radio one for their reliablity.

another combo that probably would work is a loose baying mtn cur and 2 pit/greyhound crosses that are vested up...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
