Charles.  I think making important decisions when things are emotional almost always leads to bad results  ...  including making laws.  Any law made as a response to a crazy person doing something crazy will be a bad law.  They need to not do anything  ...  now.

When criminals start obeying gun control laws then those laws will work to make us safer.  Hmmmm.  Yeah, that's a fairy tale that is never going to happen.

I like being armed.  I keep a weapon in my car, in my office, by my bed.  I'm not paranoid.  I just know there are both crazy and evil people in this world  ...  and I want to be able to defend myself and my family.

I think over time, the SC will draw lines of what is protected by the 2nd amendment and what is over the line.  I also think they will make a reasoned judgment.  I just loved the glimpse into Scalia's thinking.  He is interesting.  I do think he is the right kind of person to be a SC justice.  He thinks deeply but refuses to follow group thinking.

As to open carry.  I do not know why, but I am not comfortable with that.  I don't want to be in the grocery store or restaurant and have someone with a weapon strapped across their back or tied to their leg.
