At my place, its THHICK with narrow overgrown atv trails. Steep hils, so here, i use my lil 97 honda fourtrax 300, 2 wheel drive. Best money i've spent in a while. If i had to do over, i probably would've went Ranger.
I rode on a 250 2x4 last weekend because my arctic crap is once again out of commission. When it is fixed this time it is gone and I will get nothing but Honda and stay as small as I can. As for as a side by side, my buddy drives a mini truck and it will surprise you. 4x4 pulls hard, it is narrow, very quiet, and he hauls more dogs than most have at home. You can find them in great shape for 1/2 the price as a utv, and 1/4 of the noise. I will be going with a samurai soon, that will be my occasional side by side when needed.
