The race and gender thing will be in anything you do. Unless you work for yourself . I've used a lot of different vets in my life and can't ever remember asking to see a transcript or what school they went to. So long as they did a good job and were personable. If it comes to that maybe apply to several different schools. I know someone told me that the more u participate in volunteer studies etc. The more people u meet and experience u gain the more likely u are to be accepted.
