I really do need a friend with a lift. I did but he sold his shop and moved.

Ok I have a question about a 2nd gen Dodge. I am dropping the axle to put a small lift on it. But I have never jacked with these coil springs before. The instuctions said that after removing the upper shock monet and shocks to lower the axel until the springs can be removed. Well I lowered that jack down until it was not supporting the axle at all but the springs are not coming out. What is holding it up? If nobody can tell me I will just disconect everything until it drops. I was working in the heat today. I will e at it again by 7 in the morning before it gets hot so my brain can work. because I don't have a fancy lift or even shade like some spiled people I'm just jealous.
you tried a spring tensioner?
