Any dog can bark at a hog if it wants to and any dog can bite a hog and make it fight back sometimes or bite a hog and make it run other times
. OOPS not what you want but it happens allot if you dont have the right kind of dog. Any dog can keep a hog from running away when its in a bay pen because it has no where to go in the first place. Some might call that baying, but I don't. Baying hogs is something all together different in my opinion and requires finess and technique that has been bred into some breeds of dogs for generations. Why not go for those kinds of dogs when they are out there. It cost the same to feed a maybe dog as it does to feed a sure enough good dog. I agree with the others go for something that was bred for the job.
