These are the problems I have at night.
1.) hogs run, run and run more... Unless you hunt extremely rough, shut them down type dogs
2.) the cd's routinely miss the hogs that are bayed at night, then it's off to the races. And these are jam up cd's, just not some junk with a vest on
3.) it's harder to see. It's extremely thick youpon, briar, plantation, cut over mix where we mostly hunt. It's hard enough to get through in the daylight much less dark.
4.) we don't love hog hunting enough to go at night. It's just too much work in my opinion
Some of the positives are the hogs move more at night so it is much easier for lesser caliber dogs to find one. It's cooler at times, therefore less heat strokes during the summer, and you can go wherever your dogs go and get them easier without problems.
