I've enjoyed reading all the reasons for one or the other.....just shows me how vastly different hunters can be. I coon hunted for a long time when I was a younger guy, and I liked hunting at night, and of course, coon hunting isn't very productive during the daylight hours.
As for hog hunting, I've been quite a few times at night and I simply cannot find as reason to go at night as opposed to the daytime except during the summer months, and I don't hunt much in summer, just when we have a cool front come through. Hog hunting, for me, is just way more fun in the daytime, and that's what I'm doing it for in the first place!
Besides, all these night hunters are out of the way by daylight and we can do our thing and see what's going on to boot!
Never been worried about a hog so far,.....been run up a bush a few times but nothing real serious so far.....I carry a rifle, why should I worry about a hog getting me? Day or night.
Ole' Trent a.k.a........young whipper-snapper, will come to this conclusion as he ages and becomes more mature....but that will take time......but that's something that he has plenty of at his tender age......
