Why I said what I said above.
There are some hogs that are just gonna run, BUT if you are routinely Having hogs simply bolt when a second or third or fourth dog shows up, its time to ask 2 key questions, do I have a baybuster (or pack baybusters) OR would this hog get comfortable with a single dog.
It's easier said than done though because no one wants to think their dogs a baybuster. So you need to be sensitive about the approach. If your striking them everytime then it shouldn't be real hard to figure out which dogs ain't cutting the mustard and get your affairs in order accordingly.
As far as why I chose to give an answer instead of picking on him, I don't know really other than to say I feel for folks who are having the "runnin hog" thing spoil their fun. I've had running hogs hurt my pride plenty and instead of letting them beat me, I have tried (whenever it's respectful to do so) to suggest leaving my dogs out, leaving this dog or that dog out or only running one now or fresh packing or whatever I could think of to beat that hog.
