if a pup grows too fast it'll cause them to have joint problems later in life. best thing to do is just feed the recommended amount of quality puppy food for the dogs weight and age. i like to feed the large breed puppy food if it is indeed a large breed dog. keep them wormed on a regular basis and make sure they get all of their shots.
that's about all you really can do. i also like to keep my pups in a larger pen (30x40) together so they can run and play and seperate them during feeding time so i know they are all getting the right amount of food.
a pups growth is gonna come down to the puppy as long as you're giving them the proper nutrition and care.
