the biggist problum is, most people feed the pup and go in the house and don't spend enough time with them. Then they expect the dog to hunt and obey automatically when they turn 8 months old. They dont play with the pup and maybe get in the dog house with the pups let them know who you are. I have some pups that are 8 weeks old and they have been to the pond to swim, been all thru the woods, down to the creek, riding the 4 wheeler, introduced to all kinds of things. If I could figure out how to post pictures. FORREST send me a PM with number
you be right...sometimes it is genetics...but most of the time it is that the pups were not handled enough during the critical socialization period which before 8 weeks old...When the pups are 2-3 weeks old I throw in a sweaty t-shirt of mine in the puppy house and they will not be timid around me as they grow...they come and smell and lick my feet when they are 3 weeks old...they start out very social with me doing this little trick...sometimes it is the little things that makes a big impact...
