Snare snare or snare me and my family have been trapping for yrs don't make a big loop just about 6 in is best if there to big they will go through it or catch around there tail, you can get them in the fur fish and game magazine for about a buck. If you don't want to snare them you need to find the slide where there going up that's the only way thay will step ina steal trap  its because thay pull there legs back when they slide down,  claw marks are a good sign of where there going up put it on the side of the trail because you are trying to catch there foot not the belly. If you use a snare make a small v shape wire and pin the bottom of the snare down because some times the snare just goes over them. Hope this helps.
