Nothing personal but if u get any line of dog that's worth two scents your going to have dogs that will range out fairly far. It also in my mind depends on the dogs prey drive if a dog has a great nose but has little interest then it doesn't matter but if u have a dog that has a high prey drive then they'll range out further even without that good of a nose and in my mind that's how the jagds have earned their reputation.

You must have never seen a dog really hunt short range I mean actively hunting for a track just not leavening out till he hits one , doesn't matter about the nose on the dog , I got a hound that hunts 150 to 200 but he hits 250 or 300 go ahead an start getting ready cus he bout to put a hog at the end , might be at 400 yards or might be 2 or3 miles
