A couple of thoughts. They have bibles in SoCal ... and there are plenty of drugs in Dallas. Neither is nirvana.
Hamilton is a recovering addict/alcoholic. He had been addicted to very hard illegal drugs, including heroin, and also addicted to legal drugs, alcohol. The legal drug in Cal you are implying is marijuana, which has not been his issue.
Further, of the 162 games, half of them will be on the road, whether he plays in Cal or Texas. More than half of his work year, March to September, will be on the road and staying in a hotel somewhere other than where he will live.
Temptation exists in virtually every city or town in the U.S. He needs to manage himself regardless of where he works. Then there is the little issue of compensation. LA is going to pay him $25 mill per year for a guaranteed 5 year period.
I'm not gonna go off on a tirade, but the salary is one of my biggest complaints. I'm not talking just about Hamilton (although I feel he is worth more like 15-18 mil), but professional sports in general. Anyway, not gonna waste my time on this subject. Just think Hamilton and many athletes are over paid.
