Good post Reuben. My father was a practicing Veterinarian for 45 years and told me exactly the same thing. I follow his protocols and have had very little trouble over the years. All of my pups get at least 3 rounds of 8 in 1 vaccine w/corona.
I start to wean pups at about 6 weeks, holding the pups off their mother just over night. That's when they get the first vaccine.
By 9 weeks they are just nursing once a day and get the second vaccine.
AT 12 weeks the female should be dried up and they get the third vaccine.
Any worries or if it a special litter and they get another.
I only use 8 in 1 and I order it in bulk from one of the vet supply company's it is drop shipped to me on ice. I never buy vaccine from any of the farm stores because its to easy for it to be miss handled and they rarely carry the 8 in 1.
