Travis, I would do the weeedeater string trick, tie 10-15' to their collar. It has worked for me in the past on shy dogs. It should make it plenty easy to catch them when you are ready to call it quits for the day.
I know Mr. James told me one time while we were hunting that he hunted with a fella that had all of his trained to come out with a horn. He would wait til they were out of sight then blow the horn, if they continued going the wrong direction he would hit em with the shock collar. Mr. James said that every one of his dogs would come back when they heard the horn.I have been wanting to start doing this with mine to make it easier to gather em all back up.
