The worst part about it is corn is actually one of the lower sources of ethanol. Rice is a better source when u figure pound for pound return of ethanol. A even better source is sugar cane. Corn is the one that's pushed because that is what the mid west pushed for. Corn tho is one of the most versitile crops for producing it. The amount of acres of corn grown has more than increased enough to cover the amount needed for ethanol on top of what's needed for feed. The drought over the last few years with the added demand has created the price increase. One or 2 years of good conditions will flood the market and prices will go to nothing.
