several years ago i ran across a site that was an assc. of some name like a pig preservation society or some thing up north mostly where they were raising and preserveing the old breeds that have about dissapeared . but i can't remember what it was called. but some of the folks were raising true and for the most part pure mulefoots and other breeds i hadn't heard of, that were brought to the americas by the setttlers and pilgrams . i need to start searching around and see if i can find it again . but basicaly they were a well sought after hog in the beginning of america because of their hardiness and adaptabilty for free ranging .
