Well I have been hunting for about 3 years now with dogs... I started getting puppies, and I started from the bottom up. Started my own pups, with help of one certain buddies dogs, now they can at least find a hog if it smells real bad, aint too far, and they just saw it cross the road

I am in trouble now... Have 18 dogs, which includes the beginning of "MY" dogs. I have tried buying a "finished" dog and had bad luck every time, either they suck or die. So I just decided I have dogs that will find hogs good enough for me, so I am going to manipulate what I got to make the dog I tried buying a couple times!!! I won't buy another dog nor will I sell a pup. I won't ask anyone to spend money on a gamble... No matter how tight bred a dog is there is still that chance they can throw culls. I am keeping 5 of my 7 puppies to see how they do, one is going to a hog hunting buddy, the other is at my sister's house for my nephew's first dog!!! I bought 2 yeller dogs a few years apart from puppies from a guy in Edna. He has damn good rough early starting dogs... One of them is my homie, the first dog I ever owned on my own. I hunted him for a bit, but he is suicidal gritty so he stays at home with the house and guards it. The second pup I bought from him I loved! I told myself never to love a hog dog, but dammit I loved that dog. She was amazing to me, and she died at 9 months old to some bull**** intestinal thing. All my other dogs were given to me, and man the free ones have been the best ones.... So if your also new start slow, I didn't, learn from people and more important LISTEN!!! It will go a long way.
