Man it's a terrible thing, I have been fortunate enough to have saved some pups from parvo, And have done countless research on it. This is the way I understand it. While puppy is nursing he's pretty safe, Because the mothers milk has the antibodies in it to help prevent and kill any foreign sickness, I always give the jip a shot right after she has had the pups, hoping that it will carry on through the milk,to help boost their immune system. But I think the critical time is when you are weaning, I wean at 6 weeks and that day they get a shot, then I follow up at 8-10-12-14 weeks with the others. I have heard people say their dog was given 2 or 3 rounds and still got the parvo,And I can say I 've had them die with 4 rounds in them, the timing is very crucial, I feel the more the better, 3 or 4 or even 5 dollars is not bad money spent you hear all the time people having pups die of parvo, and you ask them how many shots they have had, And they say none,That tells me they don't care, In my eyes if they don't care enough to spend chump change on a pup then they shouldn't have the right to own it! Not being crapy but that's how I feel about it, Kinda jumped off course LOL I think that the guys are right the sun shine and time will get rid off it, if its in the dirt, But as a rule off thumb I try and raise the pups off the ground , and try like hell to get their emunity up, Havent had it in 2 years so i want to think the way I'm doing it is working,.......Hope I could help.........................W.D...................................
