I disagree 100%... I started with pups and it's a long, hard road. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy a couple of good dogs and go from there.
The problem is, people don't go hunt with these dogs... just hand over their hard earned money from an ad they read on the internet.
I agree with you. If I could go back to day 1 I would just pay what it took to have a finished dog or 3 and start from there. I think if that was a 4-5 grand price tag it would still be worth it. I completely understand with the satisfaction factor but on the other hand I'm satisfied catching hogs wether the dog was raised on my yard from a pup or not. The next thing is good dogs are always out there for sale it may take you a while to find one but there are plenty of good dogs that money can buy. I think it's your own fought if you get burned or ripped off bc let's face it a mans word and a hand shake ain't what it used to be.
